1. Agreement

By creating an account or using SkimVid ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Catalyst DataWorks ("we", "our", "us"), registered in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

2. The Service

SkimVid provides AI-powered video transcript extraction and summarisation for YouTube and TikTok videos. The Service uses third-party AI models to generate summaries and respond to chat queries. Outputs are generated by AI and may not always be accurate — they should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for critical decisions.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.

4. Free and paid plans

SkimVid offers a free tier with limited usage and a paid Pro tier with higher limits and additional features. Plan details and pricing are displayed on our website and may change with notice. Changes to pricing will not affect your current billing period.

5. Payments and billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time — access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to process content you do not have the right to access.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
• Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-access the Service beyond normal usage.
• Attempt to extract or reverse-engineer our AI prompts, models, or proprietary methods.

7. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of any content you submit (video URLs). The transcripts and summaries generated by the Service are derived from third-party video content — we make no claim of ownership over this content, and you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access the source videos.

The SkimVid brand, design, and codebase are our intellectual property.

8. AI-generated content disclaimer

Summaries, chat responses, and other AI-generated outputs are produced by automated systems and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. The Service is provided for informational and convenience purposes only. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

9. Availability and liability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Data and privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the processing described in that policy.

11. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behaviour. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at info@skimvid.app.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
